We partnered up for the very first OUTTA THE CAGE at Kurnell Rec Club, a new festival started by Letters To Lions. Early bird tickets sold out in under two hours, with general admission climbing fast right behind it, a big turnout for a first-year event built from the ground up by the band.

The Band Behind It
Letters To Lions are an ambitious four-piece out of Sydney's southern beaches: Curtis Newbitt-Hill on drums, Joel Osborn on guitar and vocals, Jackson Kent on bass, and Adam Newling rounding it out on guitar and vocals. Raised on surf and skate culture, their sound sits somewhere between alternative rock and new wave — guitar-driven, melodic, and clearly enough to build a festival around.

Brixton Backstage
We sent the guys out with a stack of gear to wear on stage and hand out backstage — and by the sounds of it, not much of it made it home. Adam reportedly launched whatever was left over straight into the crowd right before they went on. Hard to think of a better use for it.

What's Next
Launching your own festival and selling out early bird in two hours is a serious first outing. Keep an eye out for more from Letters To Lions and OUTTA THE CAGE as it grows.
