Brixton at MOONEYES Japan: 28th Annual Hot Rod Custom Show
We were honored to head to Yokohama, Japan this week and be part of the 28th annual Hot Rod Custom Show, put on by MOONEYES.

MOONEYES, a company which has made custom parts for hot rods and motorcycles since the beginnings of custom culture, hosts the event every year in Yokohama. It draws a huge crowd of people who come from around the world to appreciate vintage car and motorcycle culture, great company, and live bands. The show connects enthusiasts from all over the world by not only representing Japan’s massive scene, but also hand picking and importing custom builds from the States.

Walking through the massive indoor venue, you’ll not only see entries like classic Shovelheads and Chevys, but vendors selling t-shirts and knickknacks from eras gone by, as well as brands showcasing their newest lines — including our own Chevy collection. We also love soaking up the bold fashion choices rooted in Japanese car culture. Jason Lee, our creative director, says that every time he goes there, he’s impacted by their freedom of expression and the respect extended to people who have a more out-there style.

“They’re willing to push the boundaries in fashion because they have that confidence to just look sick.” And people aren’t phased by other people’s looks. They just say to themselves, “ok, I guess that’s how that guy rolls,” and they move on with their day.
